Bowing to pressure from the label, the band released a number of unfinished songs as an instrumental album. To be fair some of the songs were really very good and intended to be instrumental. Other songs it was obvious that something was missing.

With Stano still unavailable, and the other brothers not sure what to do without a lead singer were at a crossroads.

Although Bedtime was a commercial failure, it satisfied the brass at the label enough to green light another album.
