Number of Units Sold: 110 In November of 1985 somewhere in an old abandoned ice arena, three bodies were discovered. They were later identified as being the bodies of the three missing Bano brothers. Contrary to previous reports Jano, Vano, and Stano had not been killed in a mysterious zamboni accident - only rendered unconscious. The brothers were on ice from December of 1984 to November of 1985. Listening to this album you can tell that the brothers must have been feeling a little woozy from the experience. How would you feel after being run over by a zamboni, and then left for dead? Reunited, and full of creative ideas, the first the idea the brothers had was to kick Jevon out of the band. They also changed management companies, parting ways with Norman Underwood, and linking up with The Family Ferret. Although Hermes Brown had left Barnie Bear, the label stood by the band and released the album to a waiting public. Al de Bano was their first album to sell over a hundred units. The Dead Song turned out to be one of the band's most popular songs. With the relative success of the album, Barnie Bear licensed the Banos' previous releases with managed to sell moderately. |
