It's the most wonderful time of the year. It must be, because retailers jump all over it the day after Halloween.  There must be some weird competition in the boardrooms of corporate America to see who can get their Christmas commercials out first. Enough already, it's not like I have to be reminded that Christmas is coming.  It would be nice if people could wait until after November 11th, and then let loose. Show a little respect and all that.
I've been told that it isn't socially acceptable to wish anyone a Merry Christmas anymore.  Season's Greetings and all that crap. Which season was it that I was passing a greeting along for? Dang, now I'm digressing.
Christmas is a wonderful time. It brings out the best in all of us (except in the mall parking lots of the world) and there is something magical in the air (sometimes it's nothing more than shades of my lunch). I have a lot of fun with the Santa part of it with my kids, but I haven't forgotten what it's really about.  In the ever increasing hustle and bustle our our secular society we all need to pause and reflect upon what is truly important this Christmas.
It's about who gets the biggest present under the tree.
