JevInstincts

"We all share the air."  Isn't that beautiful?  I thought so too.  That was the slogan for this year's clean air day where I live.  It was another one of those wonderful initiatives where people for one day try and use public transportation (see my rant from June of '98).  Any more than one day would be a little too extreme, but people will at least give it a try - once, just so long as there's a good pool of prizes to be won.
Once again this year I was asked to coordinate my corner of the company.  As part of my “kit” (apparently the caboodle was extra) I got a couple of sign up sheets and a wonderful poster.  A poster that featured the above mentioned slogan.  Now, for whatever reason a number of my colleagues found it very funny that I was part of a clean air initiative.  One person thought that I was doing some sort of community service.  Another just laughed and thought it was rather ironic that I of all people was promoting clean air.
These comments were very puzzling as I always thought I was being subtle when I enjoyed my little moments of indiscretion.  Apparently not.  Maybe it was a form of penance after all.  I still have the poster up in my office, and people still walk over and have a good chuckle.
