JevInstincts

Here's to hot days, summer, beer and Geritol. Well, it's official, I'm old. Who'd a thunk it? I'm a few years from 40, and I'm over the hill. My knees are shot, my back aches, my feet are always sore, and my farts smell like hospital disinfectant.

This past weekend I missed my highschool reunion. 20 years. That's almost as long as I spent in school (math was never my best subject - although my former math teachers would be amazed to learn that I got A pluses in statistics, and business math in college. Heck I ate multiple variable word problems for breakfast, and crapped out answers), give or take a day or two. Now I'm waxing nostalgic, and am feeling oddly sentimental.

Lately I've been looking over my dusty school annual, and have come to the realization I had more fun in school than I remember, and had many more friends than I realized. I moved away from my home town a long time ago, and only kept in touch with a couple of people. Other than that I never looked back. Now I wish I had been able to hold on to more of those golden relationships.

So here's to those people who helped me along the way. Life is good, and I hope to make one of those reunions before I really get old. Thanks to all the people who organized the reunion.

Long live the Kermodes! A note for Jim Keller the (second) best big man I ever played basketball with, dude - I finally figured out how to do those funky alley-OOP dunks (taught to me by Max, the best big man I ever played with).
