I like to gloat.

Usually just a little, but sometimes a lot.

I’m not a sore loser, not by any stretch of the imagination, but I am a hell of a winner. I love to win. Truth be told I don’t get the chance very often, so I have to console myself with being a gracious loser, but in my heart of hearts I want to be the guy who can be a condescending winner.

The photo on the left is me showing my near gloating technique – yes, I'm playing white. I had just taken the lead - and feeling cocky I started up the gloating machine. Of course it can be risky, and preemptive gloating can lead to eating crow, but heck and damnation, I was feeling lucky, and as it happened I never looked back. In fact I managed to skunk one of my opponents, while merely crushing the other. So I laughed out loud, danced around the room, gave myself a high five, and then really started to gloat.

I then did what any great champion does: I retired at the top of my game and refused to play anymore.
